How many 12-ounce cups can I make with an ounce of tea?

For most black and green teas, you can figure on making five 12-ounce cups of hot tea. For the fluffier herbal teas, you may get six cups. For denser teas (e.g. fruit mélanges) and for strong cups of chai, you may get only four cups per ounce of dry tea. 

How do I brew good hot coffee?

It depends on the brewing method and how strong you want your coffee to be. The water temperature should be 200° F. Here are some suggestions for pouring a 12-ounce mug of coffee:

Question: How should I store my coffee?

Your coffee will arrive in an airtight bag with a one-way air valve that will let the coffee breathe out but will not allow oxygen back in. Once you have cut the bag open, the best way to store your coffee will be in an air-tight container that protects the beans from sunlight, heat and moisture. If you need to keep your coffee for several weeks or even months, freeze the beans in an airtight container. Let the beans come to room temperature before you grind them and brew your coffee.

Question: How should I store my tea?

Your teas will arrive in airtight bags. Once you cut the bags open, the best way to store your teas will be in individual air-tight containers that protect the teas from sunlight, heat and moisture. If you follow these storage suggestions, your teas should retain their fresh aromas and flavors for many months.

How are coffees and teas decaffeinated?

We use only Swiss Water Process® decaffeinated coffees. Our teas are decaffeinated using water or carbon dioxide methods.
